The 1965 GT Mustang that housed the potent 289 cubic inch V8 was one fast son of a gun. The 4.7 liter Windsor V8 engine packed a punch of 271 horses and when combined with a curb weight of 2,400 pounds this mid sized Ford sports coupe could run with most of the muscle car herd. The Windsor engine was a magical motor. It allowed Ford to use lower displacement engines that made great power and used less fuel.
