3. Hyundai Accent
The Accent is one of Hyundai’s most economical and efficient vehicles to date. The front wheel drive passenger car comes in several body styles but the 2005-2011 four door Accent is one of the dangerous in the United States. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the economy car an ‘Acceptable’ front crash rating but a ‘Poor’ side and rear rating. The car was poorly designed and would often crumple causing severe bodily injures. 120 deaths per million units occurred with the third generation of the Hyundai Accent. The platform was taken back to the drawing board and reengineered to comply with current safety regulations.
