Many people think that the VW Harlequins are myths but they were actually sold by dealers in 1996.  The four door Gold could be purchased with every body panel featuring a different color from the vehicle’s line up.  Most people thought the Golfs were hideous and only 246 of them were produced in 1996.  Today these Harlequins are collectors cars that are often worth quite a bit of money.
