So you can imagine our excitement when we saw that the fastback 1966 “Bailout” Mustang on eBay, with a buy-it-now price of $229,000.

Featured in Popular Hot Rodding back in 2011, Bailout focuses on a road-race-inspired mentality, with several retro-modern details that blend the styling elements of classic road-race Mustangs with modern materials and technology.

Of course, the Ringbrothers’ trick is pulling those race-inspired styling elements off, while also backing it up with a strong chassis and engine package. Power is more than 600 hp, thanks to a Keith Craft Performance Engines–built 427ci motor. A six-speed Tremec T56 transmission from American Powertrain rounds out the drivetrain, which was shifted back 6 inches in the chassis to improve weight distribution.
